Workshop Technician – Cabinet Shop
.
Description/Tasks:
- Perform basic manufacturing in accordance with appropriate documentation (drawings)
- Manufacture straight monuments and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using basic 2D design/engineering drawings, notes, instructions, and process specifications
- Cut different materials (i.e. Honeycomb panels, Lexan mirror…) to proper dimensions per 3D & 2D engineering drawings
- Bond Aluminum/Wood blocks on/into composite sandwich panels
- Cut and apply materials such as Hard Laminate (i.e. Formica) or wood veneers with glue spray gun in order to cover surfaces of cabinetry
- Cut and bond moldings on straight monuments
- Fabricate various accessories for cabinets, manufacture templates, use templates, and install equipment in specific cabinets
- Work according to Jet Aviation procedures, technical instructions, and aviation regulations
- Perform minor repairs on furniture
- Use various types of stationary and handheld power tools (i.e. saw, router…) to manufacture or disassemble furniture as well as controlling individual tools
- Operate and maintain tools in a safe and proper manner
- Adaptability to learn new techniques and works with new material related to aircraft interiors
- Maintain traceability of all components, products, parts used or manufactured in accordance with Jet Aviation Basel process
- Maintain a clean and safe work area (5S) and adheres to all safety and environmental regulations and requirements
- Research approved documents in JPMS IT platform
- Support EH&S, 5S monthly Audits and Lean Manufacturing
Qualification/Experience:
- Knowledge in reading and understanding 2D basic manufacturing drawing
- Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math computations
- Handles aerospace materials and uses appropriate tools
- Experience in aviation industry is an advantage
- Cabinet maker apprenticeship with appropriate educational qualifications
- Or Basic Cabinet Maker diploma or equivalent
- Or equivalent experience
- good English Level
