Jet Aviation Wins “Excellence in Safety” at Cairns Airport Recognition Awards 2025

Congratulations to our team in Cairns, who were recognized for their commitment to driving organizational initiatives that improve work safety and efficiency, at the Cairns airport Recognition Awards.

Every year, the Cairns Airport organizes the Cairns Airport Recognition Awards to honor the airport community, celebrating outstanding teamwork and acknowledging the contributions of individuals and businesses working at the site.

At this year’s award, we were incredibly proud to see our Cairns team take home the “Excellence in Safety” award. The award acknowledges the site’s commitment to workplace safety for its team members, its customers, and the airport community through its 5S Program, introduced in early 2025 to enhance work safety and efficiency. 

“Our employees often work in and around wide-body aircraft at varying heights. As we keep our projects on schedule, we have the critical responsibility to protect our employees by providing a safe and efficient work environment,” said Brendan Diver, vice president, MRO operations, Cairns.

“The 5S Program leans into five organizational principles – Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain – to foster a clean, organized and efficient work environment. This systematic approach ensures our employees have safe and easy access to vital tools as they perform a variety of aircraft maintenance tasks, helping to enhance safety, increase productivity, and reduce waste,” Brendan explained.  

The award was presented at the Cairns Airport Recognition Award 2025 held at the Cairns Convention Centre in early November.
