I Am Adeline Tischmacher

Basel, Completions, Europe, I Am Jet

As part of our #IAMJET employee campaign, meet Adeline Tischmacher, Completion & Maintenance Operations Coordinator, in Basel.

Hi Adeline! Can you tell us a little bit more about your role? When did you join Jet Aviation?

I started in Jet Aviation in July 2007 as a Technical Assistant in Maintenance Planning for Large Aircraft in Completion. This was my first job following my studies and I was excited to begin my career in the aviation world.

How did you come to Jet Aviation?

I am proud to be the second generation of my family at Jet Aviation. My father was a Warranty Planner in Jet. He was always telling me interesting stories about his work life and the customers that he would meet. You could almost say that I grew up with Jet Aviation and when I finished my studies it seemed natural for me to find my place here.

Can you briefly describe your job?

Wow, where to start! My main tasks involve Maintenance Planning & Quotations, Work Package Preparation, Task Card Control and Closure plus Release to Service Preparation. I also coordinate and organize multiple Hanger Support Operations and Large Aircraft movements on behalf of the Completions Group. This is one of my roles which I really enjoy.

I have worked mainly in the Completions group but also on occasion assisted with tasks in the Maintenance Group. I have been very lucky to work with many very experienced people, who have taught me a lot over the years.

What is one word describes how you approach your role?

Can-do.

What is a typical day?

y day usually begins when I collect, review, and close any completed job cards for each of the Completion Projects, provided that I don't have an aircraft move to organize for that day. I will order any parts which are required and check the status of the parts which have been previously ordered for each Project.

I also check in with the CSM team on open issues with the CAMO, SB's & AD's and any items linked to the ongoing airworthiness of the Projects. It is a big job especially at the end of the Project, when time is at a premium, and this can mean many long days and weekends.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I really enjoy interacting with people, especially the great people I work with in Jet. No two days are ever the same. I have worked with many of the same people since I joined the company 14 years ago, who are now very good friends and that is special.

What are the main challenges you face in your role?

Every day is a challenge, but Completion Project closures are extra challenging. There are always late requests and last-minute changes, which only add to the fun.

If you could describe working at Jet in three words, what would they be?

Exciting, Impressive, Challenging.

And can you give five words that describe you in your role?

Happy, engaged, motivated, team player, helpful

Thank you for sharing an insight into your world at Jet Aviation!
