As the Senior Talent Acquisition Partner in Teterboro, New Jersey, Penny Stocksdale is responsible for strategically driving full cycle recruiting efforts to find the most talented pilots, maintenance managers and cabin attendants for Jet Aviation. As a trusted advisor to her clients, Penny leverages her expertise to fulfill the organization’s staffing needs efficiently and effectively.

Hi Penny, thank you for being a part of our ‘I Am Jet’ campaign! Could you introduce yourself and your role at Jet Aviation.
I am Penny Stocksdale, and I am a Senior Talent Acquisition Partner within Jet Aviation Flight Services and Staffing. After many years in commercial aviation, I was recruited as a crew member for a large corporate department in 2004 and began the new role as director of cabin services in 2009. I was thrilled to discover an entirely new side of aviation with business aviation.
How long have been part of Jet Aviation?
I am celebrating 21 years at Jet Aviation this year. In 2019, the staffing unit branched off and created talent acquisition, which I thought would be a great way to continue to contribute to the organization, so in 2019, I joined Staffing and Talent Acquisition.
What does a typical day look like for you?
My role is to find the most talented pilots, maintenance managers and cabin attendants.
Most days, as a Talent Acquisition Partner, I am interacting with candidates for pilot, maintenance manager and cabin attendant positions. I am screening candidates, working directly with our aircraft owners and hiring managers to schedule interviews, and developing timelines for onboarding by working with crew training and scheduling. I also represent Jet Aviation at outside recruitment and industry events.
What do you enjoy most about Jet Aviation and your role?
No two days are ever the same in my role, and that is what I enjoy most. One day you might be traveling, the next day you are probably doing interviews. But what I enjoy most about Jet Aviation are the incredible people that I get to work with. Because of our growth, we continue to hire many new crew members, operations professionals and managers. I continue to learn something new each and every day.
I love being part of Jet Aviation because we have some of the best jobs in the business. I enjoy matching clients and crew members. When this works well, you just know the account will be successful.
What makes a top candidate?
When people ask me what I look for in hiring a top candidate, it’s a great decision-maker. It is somebody that can represent Jet Aviation and the client when we’re not there. They travel all over the world, and they have to make decisions on behalf of Jet Aviation and on behalf of the client. Safety has to be a given. Safety is our number one precept when we’re looking for crew members, but they also have to have a service mindset. Requests come every day from clients, and you never know what they’re going to need or ask for in a specific country or on a specific flight, so you really have to have a safety mindset and a servant’s heart.
