Meet Victoria Reina-Duffy

Americas, Charter, I Am Jet, Teterboro

We introduce #IAMJET employee, Victoria Reina-Duffy, Charter Sales Director

Victoria, how long have you worked for Jet Aviation?

I initially joined the company with Jet Professionals, where I remained five years before leaving to work in another industry. I returned to Jet in October 2016.

Can you briefly describe your job: I am responsible for outside charter sales. That means bringing in new clients and retaining existing clients' charter needs. We sell charter in three ways at Jet Aviation—Block Charter, Ad Hoc Charter, and our PT Card. The most important part of my job is knowing which to sell to each customer. It is highly customizable.

What one word would describe how you approach your job?

Two words! Customer Service!

What is a typical day?

In charter, no day is alike; however, I always begin and end my day in Salesforce, our CRM tool. It keeps me in line with knowing who I have to contact and why. A typical day can consist of client/prospect visits, LOTS of time on the phone answering questions, working with contracts and legal on agreements, and touching base with the inside charter team on how things are going. I get on average 500+e-mails a day! I always make sure to respond to all emails and phone calls before the end of the day. Urgency is a huge part of the job and being consistently responsive makes me stand out amongst my competitors.

“I believe our commitment to doing what is right, and not what is easy, is what makes us the best. We do this without compromising on customer care”

What do you enjoy most about your job?

The best part of my job is realizing that I am part of something so important. I have the distinct honor and privilege to fly people around the world for large events, company needs, and personal travel. We fly world leaders thousands of hours a year in a safe and efficient manner. There is nothing more satisfying than learning after you've completed a charter trip that it supported some large deal that strengthened the economy or created jobs. It is amazing! Anyone can sell a charter flight, but to make sure you are selling the right product at the right time is truly exciting.

And what do you enjoy about working for Jet Aviation?

I am so proud to be part of a team that lives the Jet values, particularly when it comes to safety. I always tell my clients "We never say no to anything,   except when it comes to safety"– in this business, it is paramount to create a differentiator between you and the other options. I believe our commitment to doing what is right, not what is easy, is what makes us the best. We do this without compromising customization and customer care.

What are the main challenges you face in your role?

I think as the charter industry as a whole becomes more digitalized, we find ourselves being compared to fancy websites with nice photos of planes. It is one thing to be able to find someone a plane, but quite another to understand how to operate in a complex international regulatory environment safely. I find the job requires spending more time on educating clients, especially as more and more people enter the marketplace. Not all planes and operators are created equal and it is my passion to educate people about that.

If you could describe working at Jet in three words, what would they be?

Exciting — Challenging — Rewarding.
