Jet Aviation provided handling support at Culpeper Regional Airport for the Arsenal of Democracy: World War II Victory Capitol Flyover in Washington, D.C. on the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day.

Jet Aviation supported the Arsenal of Democracy: World War II Victory Capitol Flyover on May 8th, 2015, the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day. The Flyover featured 56 vintage World War II military aircraft soaring above the National Mall to honor the heroes who fought in the War. It also paid homage on the home front to those who produced tanks, ships and aircraft that enabled the United States and its allies to achieve victory.

Jet Aviation provided handling support for 45 World War II warbirds which departed from Culpeper Regional Airport in Virginia.  The airplanes flew in 15 historically sequenced warbird formations representing the War’s major battles, and concluded with a missing man formation to “Taps.” Thousands of people flocked to sites all around the Washington, DC area to watch this historic event.

“Jet Aviation’s support of this once-in-a-lifetime event was critical to its success as we honored the greatest generation on this important anniversary for the United States and its Allies,” said General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) President and CEO Pete Bunce. “By providing critical ground operations, public relations and financial support, Jet Aviation enabled the warbirds to fly and the public to stay informed about this effort. We can’t thank them enough for their support.”

"Jet Aviation is proud to support the Arsenal of Democracy: World War II Victory Capitol Flyover,” said David Paddock, senior vice president and general manager, U.S. Aircraft Services, Jet Aviation.  “We are delighted to have been part of such a meaningful event in memory of the American heroes who served so bravely in the war and on the home front.”
