Ian Ludlow appointed as new managing director of Jet Aviation Vnukovo

Moscow, Russia  —  Jet Aviation announces the appointment of Ian Ludlow as new managing director of the company's Moscow Vnukovo maintenance operation effective August 1, 2009. He will succeed Carsten Fimm, who served as station manager of Jet Aviation Vnukovo on an interim assignment since August 2008. Fimm will hand over his responsibilities to Ludlow during a transition period.

Ian Ludlow joins Jet Aviation Vnukovo from Aeromobile Ltd, UK, where he last served as vice president aircraft operations. At Jet Aviation Vnukovo, he will be responsible for the maintenance and AOG services operation. The company recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vnukovo Invest, co-owner of Vnukovo International Airport, to form a joint venture in 2009. Ludlow will work closely with Vnukovo Invest and will report directly to Christof Späth, Jet Aviation's senior vice president MRO & FBO services for EMEA & Asia.

As an industry veteran of more than 30 years, Ludlow started his aviation career as an engineer with British European Airways. He then joined Dan Air Services Limited, which was later acquired by British Airways, as engineering manager. Since then, he held several positions as general manager and managing director as well as director of engineering and maintenance with various companies in the aviation industry. At Aeromobile Ltd, UK, Ludlow had P&L responsibility and was in charge of all company activities related to aircraft systems including system installation, field support, logistics purchasing, planning and implementation. Ludlow holds a professional certificate in management from Open University, UK.

"I am very pleased that Ian Ludlow will be taking over our Moscow facility as managing director. He brings many years of experience in the aviation field and I am confident that he will successfully manage our expanding Vnukovo facility going forward as part of Jet Aviation's growing global MRO network ," says Späth, and adds, "I want to thank Carsten Fimm for his relentless efforts in setting up the Vnukovo operation and managing our joint venture project in Moscow."
