Jet Aviation opens facility at Brazil’s Sorocaba Airport and expands its aircraft management services in the region

Sao Paulo, Brazil  —  Jet Aviation recently leased a new hangar facility at Brazil's Sorocaba Airport as part of the company's aircraft management services expansion in the region. The new site is in close proximity to the city center of Sao Paulo. Jet Aviation will initially provide hangar space for its clients, and the location will serve as a parts storage and distribution facility for aircraft operators.

The newly built 24,000 sq ft hangar can house up to five aircraft, including Embraer Legacy, Gulfstream 550, super mid-size corporate jets or smaller aircraft. In addition, the facility features a passenger and pilot lounge with Wi-fi Internet service, refreshments and entertainment systems, and provides office and storage space for tenants.

Jet Aviation established its presence in Brazil in 2006 when it opened a sales office in Sao Paulo, near the Congonhas International Airport where the company provides aircraft management, charter and aircraft sales services to the Latin American market. In 2008, Jet Aviation signed a partnership agreement with Tropic Air Taxi Aero to strengthen its footprint in Brazil and to expand its aircraft management and charter offerings in the region. With the addition of the Sorocaba facility, the company extends its service portfolio by including hangarage services.

"Sorocaba Airport is an ideal strategic location from which Jet Aviation can continue to build our service offerings throughout Brazil," said Norbert Ehrich, senior vice president and general manager responsible for Jet Aviation's U.S. facilities in Dallas, Palm Beach and St. Louis, and now including the new Sorocaba facility.

West of the Sao Paulo city center by 54 miles (87 km), the Sorocaba airport is operated by the state of Sao Paulo. Industries in the Sorocaba region include machinery, metallurgy, automobile, chemical, cement, textiles, and agricultural equipment and the area is well served by roads and highways linking Sorocaba to regional airports, coastal ports, and railways.
